CUREator is a national biotechnology incubator run by Brandon Capital to support the development of Australian biomedical research and innovations. CUREator funds and support early-stage drug development through to cutting edge medical devices and evidence-based digital health technologies. Providing more than just funding, CUREator works closely with project teams to guide them through the early development phase, offering both scientific and commercial expertise and networks to assist projects in meeting key commercial milestones.

The firm is now seeking to appoint a Program Officer to join the CUREator team. This is a rare opportunity to join a premier firm and work with a specialist team of talented and committed professionals, who are passionate about what they do. About the role
In this role, you will work with the CUREator team to provide a high level of administrative and project management support in the operational components of the incubator. Playing a key supporting role in portfolio management, this role involves project coordination, data analysis and reporting, research, communications, administrative processes and event management. The successful candidate will play an active role in the incubator and will be supported by CUREator and the broader Brandon BioCatalyst team in program delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

Working closely with the Program Head of CUREator and the CUREator Team, this Program Officer position will have responsibility for:

  • Providing administrative support to meet program deadlines and preparing reports to meet reporting obligations.
  • Supporting the management of projects, including monitoring outcomes, reviewing project reports and collating data for reporting.
  • Coordinating meeting logistics, preparation of materials for meetings, coordination and distribution of papers, recording of minutes, follow-up on action items, and other activities.
  • Developing, implementing and/or administrating policies, systems and procedures, including the use of software packages, that assist the incubator.
  • Assisting with application material preparation and supporting processes for the grant funding process.
  • Contributing to the planning and reviewing of programs, including milestones, budgets and deliverables.
  • Facilitating effective communication with key internal and external stakeholders and partners.

About You: The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised with strong project coordination abilities, and comfortable working in a dynamic operating environment. Specifically, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and/or attributes:

  • A relevant qualification in life sciences and/or project management, or equivalent experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex programs to achieve successful and quality outcomes;
  • Strong ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and a results-driven professional;
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects through development to predetermined timelines and budgets;
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy of data in collation, communications and reporting;
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to rapidly develop strong working relationships and open communication channels.

This position will be based out of the office in Melbourne and some travel may be required.

About the role
In this role you will work with the CUREator team and engage closely with start-ups, researchers and clinicians to accelerate the development of promising Australian biotechs and medical discoveries in becoming investment ready. This role involves screening applications, undertaking due diligence activities and the management of multiple projects at different stages of development to achieve clear project outcomes. The successful candidate will play an active role in the incubator and will be supported by CUREator and the broader Brandon BioCatalyst team in program delivery.

Key responsibilities include

Working closely with the Program Head of CUREator and the CUREator Team, this Analyst position will have responsibility for:

  • Assisting with the application material preparation and supporting processes for the review of applications
  • Preparing material for the CUREator Investment Review Committee and Advisory Committees
  • Performing due diligence activities on projects, including technical reviews, competitor analysis and market analysis
  • Planning and reviewing development programs, including milestones, budgets and deliverables
  • Monitoring project performance against milestones, reviewing project reports and preparing reports to meet reporting obligations
  • Engaging with the research community, industry and key stakeholders

About You: The successful candidate will be proactive, highly motivated, and comfortable working in a dynamic operating environment, where the opportunities are yours to create. Specifically, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and/or attributes:

  • A PhD qualification in life sciences (or an MD), or equivalent experience;
  • At least 2 years’ experience in life science commercialisation;
  • Highly organised and a results-driven professional;
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex projects through development to predetermined timelines and budgets;
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to rapidly develop strong working relationships and open communication channels.

This position will be based out of the office in Melbourne and some travel may be required.
