Erica Bremner Kneipp

Director

Erica Bremner Kneipp was instrumental in standing up the Australian Government’s Health and Medical Research Office’s $20 billion endowment Medical Research Future Fund and Biomedical Translation Fund, and clinical trial reform.

With experience spanning all levels of government, the private and not-for-profit health sectors in Australia, Erica is known for her passion for evidence-based policy development, research practice and translation.

She is currently Research Director, Human Health at CSIRO, leading a team of scientists working on preparedness against the threat of zoonotic pathogens and vector-borne diseases and population preventative interventions to improve public health and wellbeing.

She has extensive experience working in the university and medical research institute sector, and spent a decade with the Western Australian Department of Health in healthcare delivery and introducing innovative models of care for rural and remote communities. 

Erica is also a Non-Executive Director (NED), and Deputy Chair, of AusBiotech, the peak body for the life sciences sector, and a NED for BioPlatforms Australia, part of the Australia’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure network.
