Its focus on research is strengthened by the Alfred Research Alliance, which brings together six independent and diverse organisations – Alfred Health, Monash University, Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Burnet Institute, Deakin University and La Trobe University.  With more than 8,000 health professionals, researchers, students and support staff on site, the Alfred Research Alliance is an exciting, multi-layered community which is home to some of the world’s leading experts in biomedical, translational, clinical and public health research, and in education and healthcare.  Its aim is to support its shared vision of better outcomes for patients by thinking in new and innovative ways and working together to translate research into new and improved diagnostic, treatment and disease prevention technologies.
